I am pleased to inform you that the Financial Supervisory Commission
of Chinese Taipei will host ¡§The 7th Taipei Corporate Governance Forum¡¨
on 24-25 November, 2011 in Taipei. We expect more than 800 participants
to be present this event. Attendees include chairmen, CEOs or CFOs
and directors of our locally listed companies and financial intermediaries.
We cordially invite you and the IOSCO Emerging Markets Committee members
to come to Taipei and join the Forum.
The Forum this year will focus on ¡§Carrying out Corporate Social Responsibility¡¨
and ¡§Sharing Experiences of Corporate Governance¡¨. Additionally, since
distinguished overseas speakers and guests will be in attendance,
we are planning separate Roundtables on the second day of the Forum
to look into the issues of ¡§Promoting Board Committees --the Case
of the Remuneration Committee¡¨ and ¡§Safeguarding the Rights of Shareholders¡¨.
We have also arranged a half-day city tour scheduled on the afternoon
of November 25 for overseas participants to enjoy our cultural and
tourist attractions. Participation in the Forum and its events is
free, but attendees will incur the cost of their own airfare and hotel.
